Shelly Pamensky

Picture of Shelly Pamensky

Shelly Pamensky completed a Law Degree and Business qualification in South Africa and then came to settle in London. She worked in the city and painted in her spare time. After having children, she decided to pursue her real life’s dream and become a full time artist.  She developed her own style and technique through experimentation, studying other artists and completing painting courses at Central Saint Martins in London. What started out as a hobby soon turned commercial.

Shelly began working with interior designers such as Kelly Hoppen and was afforded the opportunity to showcase her work in London, by property developers. Her work has appeared on television and featured in various local newspapers.  Her paintings have been sold locally and abroad: London, Spain, Greece, South Africa and the USA. She has exhibited her work with London based gallery, Artistic License, who also represented her paintings at the Really Affordable art show in Battersea Park (Oct 2003).  Her paintings were also chosen for the Ben Uri Gallery’s Jewish Artist of the year competition (Sept 2004).  Her work also appears in the Kelly Hoppen book "Kelly Hoppen Style" and is currently displayed at Charles Page (interior Design Store) in London.

Demand for her paintings has been primarily commission driven. The artist enjoys collaborating with clients or interior designers to create a piece of art which will visually enhance a room.  She always advises on hanging space, colour and dimensions and subject matter. When she is not working on paintings for clients Shelly likes to experiment with her chosen medium (oil paint) and to develop new techniques of painting, always with a focus on colour.
