Particles and colour fuse to create paintings of mesmerising shimmer.

If you like my art but haven’t found the right piece for you, then good news, I am open for commissions and I love to collaborate. If you are interested then please read the information below and fill in the contact form provided, or email me directly

On Offer

I am offering commissions for my signature sprayed glitter work. You can choose between a  glitter gradient, or a more complex woven or fringed painting.  The advantage of ordering a commission is that the painting will be entirely bespoke for you.  I will guide you through colour selection, size and type of painting best suited to your taste and envisaged surroundings for the painting.

“When visiting Shelly’s studio there were so many beautiful paintings and I was unsure of exactly what I wanted. Shelly was extremely patient and helped me to work out what my dream painting would look like.”

Work Process

For every painting I make, I stretch the canvas myself and select whether to use raw cotton, or raw linen and the colour of the glitter base; silver, golden, pewter or pearl white.

When making a woven painting, I usually make two glitter gradient paintings which I then cut into strips and weave to reconstruct the new painting.  The weave involves far more work and time, but the outcome is very unique and multi-faceted.

In general woven and fringed paintings do not require a frame.  For a gradient painting, framing is a nice finishing touch. I can arrange a frame, or advise upon what to select.  Generally thin, contemporary frames would make for a suitable choice. Please bear in mind that the frame adds to the price and timing of the painting.

Dimensions and Prices

I can work to any size.  You may already have a particular space in mind for the painting, a bespoke dimension can be agreed upon.  I will provide a price depending upon size and complexity of the work.  Size, shape and number of panels is flexible and can be entirely customised.

Lead time

This will depend upon my current work commitments and the complexity and size of the order. You can expect to wait anything upwards from from 3 weeks from the time of placing the order.

Commission Process

After you send me a message, I will respond and we will discuss what you have in mind after which I will make a proposal.  If possible, I recommend a studio visit as so much can be learned from this. I often provide mock ups of sprayed colours or hand sketches that will give you an idea what I am planning to make for your approval. Once this is agreed, I will require a deposit to be paid before I commence with the painting.  During its making, I will send you images and keep you informed of  progress and timing.  Once the painting is ready delivery arrangements will be made and I will require the final payment to be made.

I hope that this information gives you a basic understanding of the commission process and what to expect.  I have fulfilled many commissions in the past, working with private individuals, interior designers and curators. I would love the opportunity to work with you and I hope you will find much joy in the resulting painting for years to come…
